Appearance: Sigurd is very tall, standing at roughly 6 feet and 4 inches. Though
he isn't exactly lanky for his height. His frame is toned and muscular
from years of combat and working on the unforgiving seas. His hair is
a brownish black, usually combed in a simple side part. It looks
darker, though, due to his somewhat pale skin. His eyes accent a long
face in a nice dark brown, and his face is pleasantly soft looking.
The paleness and softness of his features seem rather odd for a man of
the sea, but that all comes back to his military lifestyle previously.
He takes great care to keep his appearance neat and clean, and never
spends more time than necessary out on deck. His clothes are always
neatly taken care of, clean, and pressed. If he should ever encounter
a tear in his "uniform" he has the knowledge to repair it.

Weapons: Sigurd carries throwing knives on him that he takes great care to keep
clean and sharpened. Their handles are accented in either gold,
silver, or other precious and shiny metals. These of course are not
done so for looks, but rather so he can find them later. He hates
loosing them.

Skills/Special Abilities: Sigurd is a pirate and man of the sea. His skills lie in naval navigation and combat. As such, he is also an excellent fighter.

Other Abilities: Sigurd has some skill in seammenship,. but no actual talent. Just
enough to repair his clothes. He also has become rather skilled at the
polishing of blades due to his compulsive need to keep his throwing
knife set in top shape.

Runes: Sigurd has his water rune on his left hand, used for healing purposes.
He's a back lines sort of fighter, so he tends to care for the wounds
of others when not sending his knives into foes.

Weaknesses: Everyone has them…what are your character's?
Sigurd's weakness is anything that disrupts the order of his life. He
loves the freedom of being a pirate, but he can't stand how lazy and
unpredictable many of his comrades are. Taking him out of his routine
is a recipe for disaster. This also applies to combat.


History: Sigurd was, at one point in his life, a ranked member of the
Middleport naval forces serving under the Knights of Gaien before
Middleport gained its independence. At the time, they were considered
one of the greatest naval forces in the world, the Kingdom of Obel and
rising Kooluk Empire the only regional forces able to match them.
However, Sigurd grew tired of what he saw as corruption in both Gaien
and Middleport politics and decided to leave the navy, severing
himself from his previous life and becoming a drifter in the ocean.

It was then he was picked up by a pirate ship commanded by the
feared Lady Kika. He was treated as a prisoner at first, but after
months of servitude under the pirates, he was accepted into the crew.
His navy background helped him shine in both navigation and combat.
This skill plus his fierce loyalty and respect amongst the crew soon
promoted him directly to Lady Kika's side as her first mate. He took
this position with pride and became associated with his fellow first
mate and best friend Hervey. Together they served Lady Kika in all her
endeavors, including the liberation of the Island Nations and the
destruction of the Kooluk Empire.

After the fall of Kooluk, though, Lady Kika's crew had no known
threats on the great seas of the Island Nations. As such, Sigurd found
himself growing restless with his day to day duties. Against the
suggestions of the experts in the field, Kika's crew began to
experiment with new types of rune cannon shells. One such experiment
was with a Blinking Rune, which Sigurd had seen in use by that strange
magician girl during their previous adventures together. That
experiment is what placed him where he is now...
